The management of AvtoVAZ announced a production reshuffle: the production of the LADA Vesta model will be transferred from Izhevsk to Tolyatti to the B0 conveyor, and the LADA-Izhevsk enterprise will begin production of the innovative electric vehicle LADA e-Largus this year, which will be available in three versions . The platform of the machine was presented in Izhevsk.
The electric version of the Largus will be available in 5- and 7-seater versions, which will receive a range of 350-400 km, as well as in a van version – for it the range will be limited to 250 km, which is offset by its payload of 800 kg. As for traction batteries, the final decision has not yet been made, but the manufacturer is considering options for nickel-cobalt-magnesium or lithium-iron-phosphate batteries.
The LADA e-Largus model will receive a modern package: there will be a multimedia system, a rear-view camera, a stabilization system, airbags, and ABS. The power steering will be replaced by an electric power steering – this was done intentionally in order to equip the car with an automatic parking system in the future. Mass production of LADA e-Largus will be launched at the Izhevsk plant in 2023. The management of AvtoVAZ makes a big bet on the updated model. Demand for it will be determined by time, however, it is noted that an enterprise in Udmurtia will be able to produce tens of thousands of electric vehicles a year.
In the spring of 2023, assembly of the LADA Vesta model will begin on the B0 assembly line in Togliatti, with a capacity of 60 cars per hour. Previously, Renault Logan and Sandero left this line.
