AvtoVAZ began pre-series production of Lada Vesta NG

Pre-series production of Lada Vesta NG has begun at the AvtoVAZ plant in Togliatti. Serial production should begin in early March and in April new cars will be on sale, reported in the government of the Samara region.

“On Friday, February 10, Governor Dmitry Azarov and President of AvtoVAZ JSC Maxim Sokolov launched pre-series production of the Lada Vesta NG at the Togliatti site,” the regional government said in a statement.

Vehicle production was suspended in the spring of 2022, but resumed in the early summer of that year. On August 29, 2022, the AvtoVAZ car assembly complex in Togliatti switched to a 6-day working week, and more than 1,000 new employees were hired at the enterprise.

AvtoVAZ has production sites in Tolyatti and Izhevsk. In May 2022, the French Renault transferred its stake in the company (67.69%) to the state property of Russia. The new management plans to resume production of almost the entire model line in 2023. At the end of 2022, more than 188.6 cars were sold, and the market share of Lada in Russia was almost 28%.
