AvtoVAZ will present new cars of the Sport line. The debut of new products will take place as part of the fifth anniversary international festival of speed “Baikal Mile 2023”, which will be held from March 7 to 11 on the ice of Lake Baikal, according to a company press release received by Autonews.ru.
The main novelty of the company will be the sports station wagon Lada Vesta Sport. The prototype will be driven by the pilot of the Lada Sport Rosneft racing team Vladimir Sheshenin, who will attempt to set the Baikal Mile speed record. The technical part of the car has not yet been disclosed. The pre-styling Lada Vesta Sport sedan was equipped with a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine with a capacity of 145 hp. and 187 Nm of torque, with which the five-speed manual from Renault was docked.
In addition, AvtoVAZ is preparing a sports liftback Lada Granta. The car received an aerodynamic body kit, a more powerful engine and a sports suspension. Popular Russian automotive journalists and bloggers will introduce the novelty to the start of the Baikal Mile 2023 competition.
Recall that at the moment in the Lada model range there is a sported Granta Drive Active sedan. It has a standard 1.6-liter engine with 90 hp, sports body kit, lowered suspension and original rims. Until 2018, a pre-styling Granta Sport sedan was also produced with uprated to 118 hp. power unit.
