Russian automakers AvtoVAZ and Sollers noted an increase in the cost of logistics when delivering finished cars from factories to dealerships. A source in one of the companies spoke regarding this.
“Since the beginning of the year, there has been a critical situation in the market related to the transportation of finished products. <…> transportation tariffs have increased sharply, almost doubling,” a source told RBC. He noted that this is due to a shortage of car transporters and difficulties with the import of such equipment through parallel imports. The shortage of equipment drivers also affected the cost of transportation.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ reported an increase in sales of Lada cars in Russia in the three quarters of 2023 by 96% compared to the same period last year. Sales volume for January – September of this year amounted to 242.6 thousand cars, reports RT.
