For the second time in two years, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Manki Pass as a global public health emergency, which started in the African country of Congo and has spread to several countries as far as Pakistan.
A new strain of monkeypox virus, “Clade One B,” has sparked global concern, as it appears to be spreading rapidly and little is known about it. This disease spreads through close contact.

Sweden
World health officials confirmed the monkeypox virus in Sweden on August 15, the first sign of an outbreak outside the African continent.
Swedish health officials said at a press conference that the man was infected in Africa when a recent outbreak involved clade 1B of MPox. The person is undergoing treatment.
Hospitals were earmarked for monkeypox victims
Burundi
Burundi’s Ministry of Health has investigated and confirmed 61 cases of clade 1B distributed across several districts as of August 9. According to WHO data, no deaths were recorded at the time of reporting.
Kenya
On July 29, the Kenyan Ministry of Health confirmed a case of Clade One B, the first case of monkeypox in the country. As of August 8, no deaths had been reported, according to WHO data.
Rwanda
As of August 7, four confirmed cases of Clade One B monkeypox and zero deaths have been reported in the country as a whole, according to WHO data.
Uganda
Uganda identified two cases of clade one B, the first confirmed monkeypox cases in the country. Investigations revealed that transmission occurred outside of Uganda and as of August 2 no secondary transmission was linked to the two cases.
According to WHO data, no deaths have been reported so far.
Pakistan
So far, only one case of monkeypox has been officially recorded in Pakistan.
