Teacher: dream job or nightmare?
Vienna (PK) – In the new issue of Politik am Ring, on April 17, 2023, at 9:00 p.m., representatives of the five parliamentary groups will discuss live in the media library of the parliament: “Teacher: dream job or nightmare?”.
Concerns regarding finding new recruits, layoffs, retirements and more and more part-time contracts pose major problems for our education system: in the next few years, thousands of teachers and kindergarten teachers might be missing in Austria. Minister of Education Martin Polaschek wants to take countermeasures with the “biggest teacher offensive of the Second Republic”. Trade unions and experts are sounding the alarm and calling for a turnaround in education policy.
The program will be broadcast from the Parliament building on Vienna’s Ringstrasse starting at 9:00 p.m. and can be viewed live on the Politics am Ring website. After the recording, it can be accessed permanently in Parliament’s media library. Media companies can take over the live stream free of charge and show the entire program or excerpts for information purposes.
