“Protective Shield 24” extends across several federal states
Vienna (OTS) – On Friday, March 1, 2024, Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner and the Director of Operations, Major General Martin Dorfer, will present the exercise framework for “Protective Shield 24”. Around 6,000 soldiers and civilian employees from Austria, Germany, Sweden, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro will take part in the exercise, which will extend from June 10 to 21, 2024 across the federal states of Lower Austria, Burgenland, Styria and Carinthia. Of the 6,000 soldiers, around 1,000 soldiers come from the militia.
“Protective Shield 24” represents the focus of the domestic exercise plans in 2024.
