The head of the Yisrael Beytenu party, Avigdor Lieberman, called on Saturday for Israel to control southern Lebanon up to the Litani River.

Last Wednesday, Avigdor Lieberman said that regarding one and a half million residents of Gaza will leave the Strip for the Egyptian Sinai, indicating during an interview with the Israeli newspaper “Calcalist” that what happened in the Gaza Strip is that “the Egyptians have turned it into an Israeli problem and we will not be able to deal with it.” With the Gaza problem alone,” he claimed.

Lieberman, who previously served as Minister of Defense in his country, stated that Israel must make the Gaza problem a public crisis, not a private one, and that his country should be concerned with its security, calling for the occupation of the Philadelphia axis, located between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, and the demolition of walls and tunnels as well, he said.

Avigdor Lieberman stressed that as soon as such obstacles to the Israeli army end, one and a half million Palestinians in Gaza will leave the Strip for Sinai.

The battles included a seven-day truce, which was reached through Egyptian, Qatari, and American mediation, during which prisoners of women and children were exchanged, and quantities of aid were brought into the Gaza Strip.

Fighting has renewed between Israel and the Palestinian factions in Gaza, led by the Al-Qassam Brigades affiliated with Hamas, since the morning of Friday, the first of December, following the end of the truce, which lasted a total of 7 days.
