Avianca announced three new routes that will connect Medellín with Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile) and Lima (Peru), from the José María Córdova Airport.
These routes will begin operating in June and will be served with Airbus A320 fleet aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers.

Every week, the airline will offer seven frequencies and more than 2,500 seats on the Medellín – Buenos Aires – Medellín route; four frequencies and more than 1,400 seats in the Medellín – Santiago – Medellín operation; and three frequencies with more than 1,000 seats available for the Medellín – Lima – Medellín connection.
These are routes with great potential, since they are not competed; in fact, of these three international destinations, the only one that is currently covered with a direct flight is Medellín-Lima, which until now is served by Latam. There are no other direct flights to Buenos Aires and Santiago from Medellín.
According to David Alemán, Avianca Sales Director for Colombia and South America, “following decades of operating in Medellín, we continue to focus on the connectivity of the region, this time with three new direct international routes that will further connect the countries with South America. and at the same time they will allow more tourists to have new options to fly to Medellín and all of Antioquia. “This is how we continue to strengthen our route network in Latin America, offering our customers more direct connectivity, a flexible product and competitive prices.”
