The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis, spoke for the rural mobilizations, pointing out that the government is open to dialogue with them in order to find effective solutions to their problems.
Specifically, Mr. Eugenakis stated today (25.1.2024) on camera regarding the rural mobilizations that:
“We fully understand the anxiety, the insecurity that drives many of our farmers to the streets. The images we saw yesterday sadden us all, we don’t want them to happen once more.
I make it clear for the umpteenth time that we are really open to dialogue, we have never hidden, we have never abdicated our responsibilities, nor have we avoided dealing with issues that have been stagnant for many years. We are here, we are with them.
According to newsit, the government stands by the farmers and we will not hesitate to discuss and clash to solve problems and remove stress, anxiety and insecurity from the Greek farmers.
Farmers, breeders, fishermen, beekeepers know that the door of the Ministry is open to discuss everything. Through dialogue, problems are solved and at the end of the day, this is the basic element of our democracy”.
