“Magnificent”, “visually breathtaking”, “a breathtaking spectacle”… The international press has not skimped on superlatives to describe the new film in the saga Avatar, which lands on our screens this Friday.

As soon as the critical embargo was lifted, Tuesday noon, the first reactions to the film began to fuse on social networks. And, if we exclude a few mixed reviews in some media, the new offering of filmmaker James Cameron was treated to a veritable concert of praise.
“Spending more than a decade pining for Pandora was worth it: Cameron delivered the biggest movie since, well, Avatar!» wrote the newspaper New York Post mardi.
As to Los Angeles Times, he talks regarding a new film “even more ambitious than the first” that will shut down all skeptics.
“James Cameron immerses us so deeply in his universe that sometimes we have the impression of not watching a film but rather of floating in it”, underlines the critic of the Los Angeles Times.
Same story on the side of the magazine Rolling Stones, who does not hesitate to describe Avatar: The Way of Water as James Cameron’s “most amazing cinematic journey” to date.
The opinions are very favorable on the side of France too, where the film opens this Wednesday.
“Cameron, hydrophilic filmmaker, plunges back into the bath and relegates Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to the rank of muddy aquarium. At the same time as the Sully family, the spectator discovers a fabulous marine bestiary”, writes the newspaper Le Figaro.
Le magazines Paris Match was also blown away by the beauty of the universe deployed by James Cameron: “At a time when the collective and sacred experience of the cinema is being undermined by the platforms of streaming and new digital uses, Avatar: The Way of Water offers a unique immersion, [et] gives cinematic meaning to the word wonder», y lit-on.
