In recent months, the number of cases of invasive meningococcal B infection (IMB B) has been on the rise in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, with the emergence of a new strain.

The people concerned were mostly between the ages of 16 and 21 and attended the Chambéry sector and eastern Lyon, according to the Regional Health Agency. In view of the situation, the ARS recommends the vaccination, in more than 200 municipalities in the region, of two populations at risk.
