(Yeoju = Yonhap News) Reporter Kwon Hoon = Lee Hyung-jun (30), who won the 6th championship on the Korean Tour of Korea Professional Golf (KPGA) following a year and three months following serving as a full-time reserve soldier, confessed, “I really wanted to win.” .

He was a top player who won five times before enlisting and even won the grand prize in 2018.

Even though he did not neglect his practice during his military service, he said, “When I returned to tour, I was annoyed because I mightn’t play so well.”

“I called my body to increase the distance, but I was very angry because my performance was so different from the other players,” said Lee Hyeong-jun, “I was so driven that I even worried regarding what to do if I lost the seed.”

Hyung-Jun Lee sought advice from those around him and worked out the solution step by step.

He said, “I really wanted to win,” he said.

“I thought I wasn’t ready yet. I had a seed for two years, so I wanted to do it in two years, but my shot sense has improved since the last competition. “In rounds 1 and 2, my goal was to be top 10, but I did a lot more birdies than I expected,” he smiled brightly.

Lee Hyung-jun is called the ‘Autumn Man’ because he won 4 out of 6 wins so far in the windy autumn.

He said, “Actually, I don’t know why. But by this time, the dizzying shots are in order. I think it’s more appropriate to have a stiff swing than in the summer when the body works well.”

Lee Hyeong-jun, who was a caddy for his wife, said, “I won the championship twice with my wife. After my wife won, she shed a few tears.” “It seems that it is hard to become a caddy while raising two children. Perhaps this competition is the last as a caddy. It seems to be,” he said.

Hyeongjun Lee got married in 2018 and has a four-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter.

Lee Hyeong-jun said, “The competition for the grand prize and the prize money is a little late, but I will do my best.” He said, “I want to win one more time before the end of this season.”

Lee Hyeong-jun said, “I will concentrate on the Korean tour until next year.”

He said, “My children are young and I need to improve my performance further,” he added, “I plan to take on an overseas tour starting in 2024. I am thinking of a Japanese or Asian tour.”
