Over the entire food chain, some 2.8 million tonnes of food are wasted every year in Switzerland. About a third of food waste occurs in private households (28%), with each person in Switzerland throwing away around 90 kg of food per year. The good news: anyone can be part of the solution. Even small changes in daily habits can have big effects.
