Autonomous driving once again at the center of attention at CES in Las Vegas

Like last year, the 2024 edition of the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which takes place from January 9 to 12 in Las Vegas, was once again marked by a strong presence of automobile manufacturers and companies that gravitate around this industry. CES is now one of the major events for innovation in the sector. This year, there is no doubt that, in addition to the electric segment, the show has given a very large place to driver assistance systems, and in particular autonomous driving.

“We are seeing big improvements with manufacturers like Valeo or Luminar. You only need to look at the number of cars equipped with advanced driving and safety features to understand that this is in line with history», Says Brian Comiskey, director of thematic programs at the CTA, the technology association which organizes the CES. According to statistics, 10% of new cars will reach level 3 of autonomy (automated driving in a limited area) by 2026. Level 4 is expected for 2029 and some manufacturers are already talking about level 5: fully automated driving .
