Automatic fine against drivers under the modern system, traffic department statement continues

The Saudi Traffic Department has informed that drivers who violate the lane while driving will be automatically fined under the new system.

In this regard, the spokesperson of the traffic department has said that the registration of the violation of not restricting the lane in Taif, Baha, Al-Jawf and Jazan will start after 7 days through the automatic system.

According to Saudi media, the department has said in its Twitter account that lane keeping violations have already been registered under the automatic system in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.

This fine is now being implemented in Taif, Baha, Al-Jawf and Jazan which will be applied after 7 days. Lane restriction on highways is necessary for traffic safety, violation of which can be fined from 300 Rials to 500 Rials.

Smart cameras for automatic registration of violations have been installed in the above mentioned cities and it has also gone through experimental phases.

The department has said that in order to avoid a violation while changing lanes, it is important that the driver first ensures his own safety and the safety of others.

The driver should signal in good time before changing lanes and make sure that the lane to be moved to is clear of traffic.

And more importantly, make sure that it is not a traffic violation to walk in the lane the driver is going to move to.
