Automata, which no one knew about – modders and dataminers are at a loss

Dataminer and YouTuber Lance McDonald in his microblog reportedthat the philosophical action modding community NieR: Automata turned out to be in disarray after the recent discovery of one player.

The story began on June 11th, when a Reddit newbie named sadfutago inquiredhow to get into “church”. Within a week, a user posted screenshots locations and video with the road there, and on July 25 posted more detailed gameplay video.

Playing as android A2 in the City Replica location, sadfutago walks up to the wall, presses the interact button and enters a hidden area. Behind the secret door, sadfutago finds a staircase that leads to a corridor, but does not show the church itself.

Nobody has found anything like this in this area for all five years since the release of NieR: Automata (and the last secret of the game already officially disclosed) even in debug modeso the discovery of sadfutago raised a lot of questions.

The enthusiast was suspected of cheating: sadfutago could create a secret location himself. However, modifications to NieR: Automata have not yet reached this level, so if the Hidden Zone turned out to be someone’s creation, it would still be a significant event.

Subsequently It revealedthat sadfutago plays disc NieR: Automata (build 1.0) on Wi-Fi disconnected after the first PS4 ending. What sequence of actions unlocks the secret, even the discoverer himself does not know.

It is assumed that in his version of the game, sadfutago stumbled upon a fragment of an unfinished location. In the cut from NieR: Automata iteration of “City Replicas”, for example, there was church. However, the community has not yet come to final conclusions.
