Two suicides that occurred last Sunday, September 29 in the city of El Vigía, Alberto Adriani municipality in the state of Mérida, are being investigated by officials of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps of that city.
The first case results in the death by hanging of José Juan Godoy Ramírez, 34 years old, known as “Cachete” and who worked as a rubber tapper in a renowned establishment in El Vigía, who lived with his parents and his little 4-year-old son. years old on 4th Street in the Alí Primera neighborhood, in the Rómulo Gallegos parish, being found dead by the little boy who notified his grandparents.
According to the local press, Godoy had tried to take his own life on several occasions, achieving his goal after an evening with his friends, where he showed that he was going through depressive moments, becoming the fourth case of suicide in the entity in the month of September.
The second case occurred in the afternoon, in which Martha Cecilia Pereira Rodríguez, 55 years old, residing in the La Isabelita urbanization in the Alberto Adriani municipality and who worked as a teacher at the Primero de Mayo Educational Unit, took off her life due to ingestion of a toxic substance, being transferred by her family to a clinic in that city, where she died shortly after, becoming the fifth case of suicide in the entity in the month of September.
