The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) and the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT) have detailed the vehicle arrangements that will be implemented on June 1 for the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Nayib Bukele.
The perimeter closure will begin on Friday, May 31 at 8:00 p.m., and starting at 4:30 a.m. on June 1, other surrounding arteries will be closed to facilitate access for visitors and attendees, according to the Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez. More than 3,000 elements, including police officers, traffic managers and security forces, will be deployed to ensure security.
Deputy Minister of Transportation Nelson Reyes added that there will be six pedestrian entrances located on 2nd St. East, 4th St. East, 6th St. East, 2nd Ave. South, 4th Ave. South and 6th Ave. South. In addition, some streets will be completely closed or with controlled traffic flow.
To mitigate the impact of these closures, the VMT has arranged free buses from the Cuscatlán stadium parking lot to the Historic Center of San Salvador, facilitating transportation for attendees.
