It was an event recorded last Wednesday, next to the well-known sculpture located 75 km south of the regional capital.

In this regard, the regional presidential delegate of Antofagasta, Karen Behrens, He announced that the first measures taken by the authorities aim to determine the causes of what happened.

In that sense, he aimed to know “the company that would own the truck that carried out this criminal act in terms of environmental regulations.”

At the same time, he highlighted that actions were taken to address the consequences of this spill.

In that sense, he stressed that “it is very dangerous for people who might approach this place and be able to suffer damage, both by burns or by inhalation.”

Governor announced complaint for contamination in the Hand of the Desert

For his part, the regional governor of Antofagasta, Ricardo Diaz, announced legal action once morest those found responsible.
