Austrians became hygiene muffles due to Corona

Almost a quarter of men do not change their underpants every day, 1.5 percent only change them every week, and one in three people change their bed linen too seldom. This was the result of a representative GfK survey (1,000 participants) published on Wednesday on behalf of the online retailer Galaxus.

After all, 83 percent of those surveyed change their underwear as recommended at least once a day. However, almost a quarter of men trade less frequently, compared to one in ten women. By age group, those over 50 wear dirty panties most often, followed by those aged 15 to 29. There are also a lot of grouches among the respondents with little school education.

Many Austrians apparently love their bedrooms to be rather musty. According to the recommendation, beds should be freshly made every two weeks – more than a third of those surveyed do this less frequently. In comparison to the German-speaking countries, we are in the middle of the field – Germany takes first place in the horror rating. A ray of hope: with age, people in Austria seem to be becoming more and more hygienic, at least in the bedroom.

Austrians are toothbrush holders

Hygiene includes, among other things, replacing the toothbrush regularly – at least every three months. The 15-29 age group is the most lax, with just under 20 percent not doing so. In a country comparison, Austria and Switzerland fare significantly worse than their German neighbors. In Austria there are almost 15 percent twice as many toothbrush holders as in Germany.

When it comes to personal hygiene, of course, showering or bathing should not be missing. It is recommended two to three times a week. Compared to the other categories, things look pleasing here. More than half shower or bathe every day, a third every other day, 15 percent every three to six days, while the rest apparently like to make their presence known olfactorily.
