Polar bears, Sarah Connor, a bit of grumbling and looking very good: the Austrian music week at a glance.

By Lisa Schneider

Good things still happen. Nino from Vienna (without “the”, on purpose, that’s the literary self) for example, has finally written a book, it’s called “Cookbook Take 16”, which will be published next Friday and there are nice sentences in it like: “Musically, I come from that Karaoke” and “lyrical from the chat”. Or, special super class: “My grandma always said that ham makes you fat and salami makes you beautiful.” Brace yourselves!

The Viennese musician does that too Don’t cook right now or still. Good things still happen on the Internet, like when you get in touch with Timbaland via www, you then play him his song, he nods his head in agreement and, thank you, you caught it all on camera:

More good news and music for the updated favorite playlist:

Picture book – “Blue Zone”

People and islands, often heard, always true. There are those who believe that they only ever think regarding everyone else, and there are those who continue to say that anyway, but know deep down that that’s not entirely true. Picture book With “Bluezone” we have once once more released a new and new-sounding song, but that too is rooted in the era that might be written in the stars as its “laid-back and super cool”. A song regarding the Holding on to friendships, regarding statistics that overtake you and your professional ethic, a song also a bit regarding the question of what it’s all for. “I think I’m gonna die alone” is a reference to the bitter realization that you’ve somehow always been alone You have to muddle through life, but that’s followed by an insightful and know-it-all “I just want to die alone.” It’s not nice, but that’s how it is.

CULK – „Eisenkleid“

“All armor speaks of vulnerability”: CULK Last Friday they released a video single for the album release (“Generation Maximum”), it’s called “Eisenkleid”. Where verbs are turned around and adapted to the situation (“to have breasts” and “masculinity” in one line in current pop music is a good thing), where you have to think very deeply into something and then not fully understand it anyway to understand, we have arrived at the music of CULK, which is – self-quote! – namely always a dialogue. You can read everything regarding this group’s big, big, third album here, and for live you have to there.

Endless Wellness – “Thank you for everything”

Nobody wants to be a polar bear, and of course not the group either Endless Wellness. That’s not nice, that should be read as a gentle but no less serious declaration of war, we’re not talking regarding white, plush, dear snub nose, we’re talking regarding someone pulling the floor and life rug out from under you. “What else I have to say has probably already been said better by someone”: you just want to hear a little more. Old words, new words, old and new ideas, those in front of us can complain, none of this is of any use to us anyway. In all the big moments when the world is crumbling above us, it’s okay to give up and go crazy. The music sounds like this.

Anda Morts – “Your number”

Smoking, beer, a bit of falling in love or at least that’s what you thought. Welcome to Anda Morts! He recorded a (always good) Butter Session with his band, right in time for the release of his new single “Your Number”. Sequences of numbers that mean the world and then no longer do so from one day to the next. How does it work, pranking people, and is that even something worth striving for? Blue ticks have already destroyed many, if not lives, then at least dreams, and who would want to distinguish between rainbow-colored and green rings? “I don’t want to see everything, just what’s to come.” Anda is coming to Vienna on April 26th, to the Flex, for his first headline show in the capital. Actually the only number you might, should, learn by heart.

Donna Savage – „Sarah Connor“

Sarah Connor calls her new album “Not So Silent Night” and also her Christmas tour, which will soon take her to Austria. “Sarah Connor”. Donna Savage their new single (as always concocted together with Brenk Sinatra), and you actually have to know at this point which of the two you’d rather listen to. From zero to hero and snowballers in the summer, stupid e-scooters and very big, great earrings: Donna Savage only writes statement songs anyway, and that’s a very good thing.

Also good and good to know

Apparently only hits on the new album EUROTEUROthis one belongs to it: “Past Life“.Don’t cook Not only did she talk to Timbaland on the phone, she also released her first album, “Highs & Heartbreaks.”

Not rain, tears! Kimyan Law with “Tearmaker“.Think regarding songs you heard when you first met – and then apologize for your bad English. All good Jeansboy (song is called “How Many Days Will It Take“).”I only think of you”: Thoughts of love and their gentle will to destroy oh alien on “Grow“.It’s a beautiful trembling-clattering song: “U” by AARØN and Kevin Cool and Wandl.Pressure, tunnel, break out once, please: “Asbestos“ von PAN KEE BOIS.At last Thursday’s Soundpark we talked to CULK, Euroteuro, Liz Metta and Kenji Araki regarding their new albums, we celebrated picture book song premieres and also heard new songs from oh alien, Endless Wellness and Anda Morts.
