An Austrian lost his life while canyoning in Claro in the Swiss Ticino on Thursday. According to the police, the man fell regarding eight meters and hit rocks. According to current knowledge, the 35-year-old was traveling with other people in the Censo stream, the Ticino canton police said on Thursday evening.
The accident reportedly happened shortly following noon. It was initially unclear why this happened. The man was first looked following by his companions and then by the emergency services. The Swiss air rescue service Rega finally flew the injured down into the valley. For him, however, any help came too late.
