Art holds a mirror in front of us all. Whatever we see there can be a major impetus for change. And that is something that the world desperately needs.”

The art prize, each endowed with 15,000 euros, went to Ines Doujak (fine arts), Christiana Perschon (film), Margot Pilz (media art), Willy Puchner (children’s and youth literature), Lisl Sharp-Ponger (artistic photography), Thomas Stangl (literature ), Johannes Maria Staud (music) and the collective ARTEC architects (Hans Hollein Art Prize for architecture), Society Lalish (cultural initiatives) and toxic dreams (Performing Arts).
