“I cling to life”

Fritzl continues to write that in 2006, when media reports about Natascha Kampusch and her kidnapper Wolfang Prikopil were omnipresent, he felt “mentally particularly burdened”. The reports had “made him thoughtful”, but he still expected a “mild punishment” for himself. In the meantime, he criticizes Prikopil because he committed suicide – “I’m hanging on to life,” says Fritzl.

It is also obviously important for Fritzl to emphasize his good health. “Rumours about dementia and heart problems just aren’t true,” the book says. He also claims to receive “hundreds of letters”, “primarily from women who are in love with me”. The “Kronen Zeitung” writes that they have received this information from a judicial insider.
