At the beginning of the year, there were changes to the structure of the top state tourism advertiser, Austria archyde news (ÖW). In place of the previous executive board, a supervisory board was installed on January 1st, the national tourism marketing organization announced on Friday. The new supervisory board was constituted on January 10th and consists of eight people. Five supervisory board members come from the federal government and three from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
The members of the Supervisory Board have been appointed for four years and will perform this function on a voluntary basis, according to the statement. In the future, the control committee will advise the management of the ÖW and monitor the fulfillment of the statutory tasks. The ÖW boss is currently Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger. “The change from a presidium to a supervisory board was made with the aim of achieving a clear separation between the decision-making body – the general meeting – and the advisory and control committee,” it said in response to an APA request.
The Supervisory Board now mainly consists of former members of the Presidium. The chairwoman of the supervisory board is the head of the tourism section in the Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs, Ulrike Rauch-Keschmann. The deputy is the Vice President of the WKÖ, Martha Schultz. The committee also includes the commercial director of the State Opera, Petra Bohuslav, WKÖ gastro chairman Mario Pulker, tourism chairman Robert Seeber, Hubert Siller from the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), Johannes Siter from the Ministry of Finance and transport office chairman Martin Winkler. New additions include Bohuslav and Siller.
