A couple of Australian travelers flying home from Europe have demanded a refund of their premium ticket following spending their flight with both feet in the drool of a service dog who wouldn’t stop farting.
“I heard this noise – a big snort. I thought it was my husband’s phone, but we looked down and realized it was the dog’s breathing. […] My husband was in shorts and he had dog saliva on his leg,” Gill Press reported, according to “The Independent” on Monday.
A few weeks earlier, the Wellington couple were preparing to leave Paris for a 13-hour flight to Singapore when they reportedly realized they would be sharing their small space with an emotional service dog.
Except that due to the passage of trolleys in the aisle, the dog under the feet of its master, would have been pushed with its head under the feet of the Australian, continued the British media.
The Singapore Airlines flight attendants then offered them a seat at the back of the plane, in the economy section, far from the premium seats for which they had paid.
But the situation would have gotten worse in mid-flight, when the mastiff would have started to fart in the enclosed space, making the situation unbearable.
This time, the flight attendants allegedly offered them seats at the front of the economy section previously used by the crew which were now free, telling them that the company would be informed of the inconvenience.
After a week without news, the woman herself filed a complaint with the company, before receiving vouchers equivalent to $160 per person: an unacceptable amount according to the couple who “did not receive the experience for which we paid,” according to “The Independent.”
For its part, the airline reportedly apologized for the experience, specifying that usually, passengers seated next to a service dog are informed in advance in order to make changes if necessary.
