Melbourne: World number one Novak Djokovic wins first-round victory over Australian Govt on real court Djokovic’s visa waiver has been revoked by a government court following the cancellation and suspension of Djokovic’s visa to attend the Australian Open 2022, which starts on the 17th of this month. But the Australian government is in the process of revoking the visa once more.

Novak Djokovic argued that the hasty cancellation of the visa was unreasonable, despite a medical report stating that Kovid had good reason not to be vaccinated. Judge Anthony Kelly, who examined the documents, asked what the world number one should do next, and the public prosecutor was released. The government agreed to revoke the visa ban and said the passport would be handed over to the Serbian soon.

Shortly followingwards, the court ordered Djokovic to cease surveillance in the hotel room and release him. Despite winning the court, Djokovic’s participation in the Australian Open is still uncertain. The government has already informed the court that the immigration department may exercise the special power of the minister to cancel the visa.

Under Section 133 of the Australian Immigration Act, a minister can revoke anyone’s visa in the public interest. There are indications that the government may take drastic action, citing the fact that Djokovic, who has not been vaccinated, is a threat to the health of others. Djokovic will not be able to stay in Australia for three years if he is sent back home. Despite winning the court in a nutshell, it remains to be seen whether the world number one will return to court in Melbourne.
