Australian Government explores cooperation opportunities with Valle del Cauca

In a meeting with the Australian ambassador in Colombia, the government of Valle del Cauca proposed alternatives for articulation to strengthen the competitiveness of the department and reduce social gaps. The governor of the department, Dilian Francisca Toro, was pleased with the receptiveness of the ambassador and assured that the purpose of this alliance would be to attract foreign investment and cooperation support for the region. “We found the Australian ambassador very kind. A very open person, willing to support, to help both in investment and in cooperation and to be able to make a very fruitful relationship for the communities of Valle del Cauca. This relationship has to continue so that it gives us very important executions and fruits for the people,” said the governor.

In this first visit to Valle del Cauca by the Australian diplomat Anna Chrisp, as ambassador, it was made clear that the intention of the meeting “is to take advantage of all the axes of cooperation, in education, in investments, in renewable energy, in infrastructure and, of course, in biodiversity. There is a lot of potential because we have in Valle del Cauca all the wealth of the environment, all the natural wealth, but above all the people, the human quality of this department, I think that is a very important wealth as well.”

As a result of the dialogue, it was agreed to establish a joint work agenda to identify programs and projects that could benefit from closer collaboration. This approach will maximize the competitive advantages of the Cauca Valley and take advantage of the institutional support that positions it as an attractive territory for investment and international cooperation.
