The Australian goalkeeper Matthew Ryan offered on a silver platter the 2-0 goal to Argentina on Saturday evening in the round of 16 of the World Cup which opposed the Socceroos to the Albiceleste. Trailing following a goal of Lionel Messi in the first period, the Australians had managed to stay in the game but an error by their goalkeeper allowed the Argentines to double their lead.
Under pressure, the former Club Brugge goalkeeper tried to get rid of Rodrigo DePaul et Julian Alvarez. Probably too daring, he had the leather stolen by Alvarez, free to score his second goal in this World Cup.
A big blunder on the part of Ryan which Australia would have done well.
