Canberra/Funafuti – Australia and the island nation of Tuvalu signed a “landmark” agreement on Friday on the sidelines of the regional Pacific Islands Forum. The Australian government said Australia will establish a special admission program for residents of Tuvalu, allowing them to come, live and work in Australia. According to the agreement, 280 people from Tuvalu might initially come to Australia each year.
