Australia lost in the second T20 match in a row, Buttler’s brilliant batting

Due to Jos Buttler’s excellent batting, England won the series by defeating Australia by 6 wickets in the second T20 match as well.

In the second match of the series played at Southampton, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Which proved disastrous and two players were dismissed for three runs.

Captain Aaron Finch and Steven Smith had taken the score to 30 when a misunderstanding between the wickets resulted in Smith being run out and returning to the pavilion.

Aaron Finch and Marcus Stoins added 49 runs after which Chris Jordan scattered the wickets of the Australian captain who scored 40 runs.

However, the real blow came to Australia when Stowes also walked after scoring 35 runs with the addition of 10 runs.

The visitors were in trouble after half the team returned to the pavilion on 89 runs and at this stage Glenn Maxwell and Ashton Igar took charge of the team.

The two players played an innings of 26 and 23 runs respectively, thanks to which Australia scored 157 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted overs.

Chris Jordan was the most successful bowler for England with 2 wickets. But for that he suffered a 40-run thrashing.

In pursuit of the target, the English team also lost Bairstow’s wicket early on, who was hit by Starc’s ball.

After that, David Malan came to support Jos Buttler and the two players strengthened their grip on the match by establishing a partnership of 87 runs, Malan was dismissed for 42 runs.

Tom Benton and Eoin Morgan’s stay at the wicket was also brief and both got out for 2 and 7 runs respectively but Buttler continued his baton charge from the other end and took his team to victory with 7 balls to spare.

Buttler played an innings of 77 runs off 54 balls, which included two sixes and 8 fours, and was also declared the man of the match for the same innings.

With the victory in the match by 6 wickets, England has also taken a decisive lead in the 3-match series by 0-2.
