Aussie on tour to distribute his sperm

A 37-year-old Australian is currently in Brisbane, in the west of the country, for a period of ten days as part of his “making-baby tour”, reports the Courier Mail.

Adam Hooperwhose sperm has been used to conceive more than 20 babies, is currently touring Australia to offer his sperm to women wishing to have artificial insemination.

Next weekend he will be giving a seminar and all the women who attend and who are in their ovulating period will be able to receive a glass containing Mr. Hooper’s sperm.

And since selling his sperm is illegal in Australia, they won’t have to pay a single penny to obtain the precious liquid.

Adam Hooper expects many women in their 30s and 40s to attend his seminar.

The initiative has drawn its fair share of criticism in Australia. Several citizens are particularly concerned regarding the lack of control surrounding Mr. Hooper’s sperm donations.

The latter ensures that he undergoes regular medical examinations and that his gesture is completely altruistic.

Usually, in Australia, a child conceived thanks to a sperm donation cannot meet his parent before the age of 18 years.

Adam Hooper nevertheless invites his potential “children” to get in touch with him as soon as they wish.

“I will not be their parent, but if they want, the children can have a photo of me or call me if necessary,” he says.

“I want children to be able to know where they come from. There are too many young people from assisted reproduction who spend years finding their father,” adds Mr. Hooper.

The 30-year-old has also started the Facebook page “Sperm Donation Australia», thanks to which he puts couples or single-parent women in contact with donors. His initiative has resulted in the birth of more than 900 babies.
