August Open Schools Initiative: A Thrilling Educational Adventure for Everyone

With emotion and satisfaction, this Friday the August Open Schools Planin which 36,970 children and young people from the Trujillo state were served, who immersed themselves for four weeks in enriching and fun spaces.

Among the variety of activities, the most notable were gymkhanas, the creation of figures with reusable materials, face painting, dances, dynamics, traditional, sports and recreational games, beautification of the green areas of educational facilities, weeding of school gardens, discussions and talks on energy saving, first aid, nutrition, health and well-being.

Génesis Cardozo, a student at the Andrés Bello School in the Mercedes Díaz parish, said: “I have shared a lot with my friends. Thank you to President Nicolás Maduro, our governor Gerardo Márquez, the recreationists, the teachers and everyone who supported us to make us happy these past few weeks.”

For her part, the sole Education Authority of Trujillo State, Dr. María Palomares, said: “We say goodbye to this wonderful Plan with the certainty that our children and young people enjoyed it to the fullest. It was a beautiful adventure, with wonderful activities, but above all full of love for those who are the present and the future of this country: Our young people.”

The director of the Ulises Zuleta CEI in the Trujillo municipality, Yolimar Briceño, said: “Everything was a resounding success. The Plan not only provided a recreational and educational space, but also strengthened community ties and promoted essential values ​​in our children. At the end of the activities, they go home with new friends, valuable skills and memories that they will treasure forever.”

It is worth noting that 311 schools and 60 educational complexes in the state opened their doors to take part in the August Open Schools Plan, with the support of the National and Regional Government and 22,392 educational communities.

Likewise, the participation and support of different entities of the national and state governments and Bolivarian mayors was counted on; such as, the Preventive Front, Fundasalud, IPASME, CNAE, Corpoelec, INCAET, OBE, IDENNA, MBFAI, Recreation Movement, Youth, Tourism, TSJ, MINEC, Urban Agriculture, Robert Serra Mission, among others, all hand in hand with the organized People’s Power.
