You must audit a new supplier or a supplier in your panel for selection reasons or to assess the suitability of meeting your requirements. The supplier audit, or second party, to be constructive, must be seriously prepared by both parties.

Steps :

Step 1: Trigger the supplier audit

The supplier audit can be carried out at different stages of the relationship:

to select a new supplier; to help a supplier who is having difficulty meeting your customer requirements; to delegate all or part of the checks to the supplier (supplier quality assurance); to support the supplier in developing new products or increasing its production capacity .

An audit can therefore be triggered at different times in the relationship with the supplier and will, in all cases, be planned in agreement with the supplier concerned.

Ideally, the possibility of an audit should be provided for in the clauses of the contract binding the supplier to the company.
