Audio leaks case related to Bushra Bibi and Najam Saqib scheduled for hearing in Supreme Court – Pakistan

The Supreme Court has fixed the alleged audio leaks case related to former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and former Chief Justice’s son Najam Saqib for hearing.

A two-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan, will hear on August 19 the petition against the decision of the Islamabad High Court on the audio leaks of former First Lady Bushra Bibi and former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar’s daughter Najam Saqib. Naeem Akhtar Afghan will be part of the 2-member bench.

It should be remembered that the federal government has challenged the Supreme Court’s June 25 order of the Islamabad High Court regarding the audio files of Bushra Bibi and Najam Saqib.

In the appeal filed by the federal government in the Supreme Court, it has been said that summoning the heads of institutions and getting reports from them is equivalent to fact-finding.

The federal government is of the opinion that the single bench of the Islamabad High Court gave a decision contrary to the facts, gave the relief that was not asked for, the Islamabad High Court exceeded its powers, the Supreme Court should declare the order of June 25 of the Islamabad High Court null and void. .

It should be remembered that Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court said in the order of June 25 that any kind of surveillance of citizens is illegal according to the law. Responsibility rests with the federal government, with the Prime Minister and cabinet members collectively and individually responsible for this mass surveillance.
