Audi F1 “Promote recruitment activities on the scale of Red Bull Powertrains”[F1-Gate.com]

Audi still has three years to prepare for F1. Recruitment for seasoned talent in F1 is in full swing and Audi hopes to match Red Bull Powertrains soon.

From 2026, it will become one of Audi’s F1 engine suppliers. Audi is also planning to buy a stake in Sauber F1 Team, which will also change the name of the team in the long term. The F1 engine project is progressing well, but there is still much work to be done to improve competitiveness.

Regarding the progress of the Audi F1 project, Audi Sport technical director Stephan Dreyer said: “The implementation phase actually started months before the communication. It was at the end of August, before the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix. Since then, about 100 employees have joined the team.”

And that number should increase in the next few years, Stephen Dreyer explains.

“More than 300 employees are planned and it’s on schedule. I know the team, I know what they can do. I have full faith in them. It’s not enough to get it done, and in the meantime we’re trying to recruit outside experienced people.”

But Stephan Dreyer says attracting people to Audi’s F1 project is a little more difficult. This has to do with Audi being in Neuburg an der Donau, while most of the current F1 factory is in the UK.

“First we have to find and recruit 300-400 employees in Neuburg an der Donau.”

“This is a huge undertaking, to say the least. Red Bull Powertrains already employs about 350 people, but Milton Keynes is only a few dozen kilometers from Brixworth,” said Stefan. Dreyer mentioned Mercedes’ engine division.Les
