Aude: the fuel shortage extends to small towns and the west of the department

It is still as difficult to find happiness at the pump this Tuesday, October 11. Mainly concentrated in the two agglomerations of Carcassonne and Narbonne in recent days, the shortage is spreading inland to affect the four corners of Aude.

Observed for almost a week in the town of Narbonne and mainly at Total Energies service stations, which have been taken by storm thanks to a particularly attractive tariff offer, the fuel supply difficulties seem to be spreading throughout the Audois territory and on the different distributors over the days.

After Carcassonne since this weekend, it is the turn of the municipalities in the west of the department to be threatened by the dry breakdown. Thus this Tuesday, October 11 at 7 p.m., complete or partial ruptures in the gasoline supply were observed in Limoux, Chalabre, Quillan, Montreal, Peyriac-Minervois, Castelnaudary but also in Trèbes. In addition to the difficulties encountered in Narbonne where it was very difficult at the end of the day to find diesel available at the pump. In total, a quarter of the stations recorded partial or total breaks.

In parallel with this situation, it is the prices at the pump which have experienced a certain surge over the past seven days with increases of around 10% for diesel. Thus, the liter of diesel was around €1.85/litre but might reach €1.999 in Narbonne and €1.95 in Limoux and Carcassonne. Same observation for unleaded with an inflation of around 5 to 7%. That is €1.73/l in Carcassonne and €1.799/l in Limoux. For the Grand Narbonne sector, prices were around 1.7 €/l but might go up to 1.9 €/l in some resorts.
