The Ecuadorian Aucas continues to make history at the hands of the Venezuelan technical director César Farías. This time, in the first game they played for the Copa Libertadores, they defeated Brazilian Flamengo, current champion of the tournament, 2-1.
It is worth noting that the Quito team comes from obtaining its first and only Serie A title in Ecuador in 2022, the year in which the coach from Cumaná took over the reins of the club.
The Anzoatiguense Rómulo Otero had an outstanding performance for Aucas and was in charge of assisting Erick Castillo, who at minute 58 equalized the actions to a goal, following Flamengo took the lead in the first half with Diana de Matheus França .
Roberto Ordóñez sentenced the commitment at 85′ and thus the Ecuadorian eleventh added their first three points in the top club competition at the South American level.
