“The reason for this was an odor on board,” the company said in response to a query. The aircraft is now being inspected by Austrian Technik, it said. The passengers were to be flown to Germany on board another plane in the afternoon, a good two hours late.
An Airbus A320 on flight OS-153 was affected. “The smell was compared to that of cleaning agent residues,” the company said. Several airport fire brigade vehicles were dispatched. “The emergency services on site were called in purely as a precautionary measure,” AUA said.
