THE Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has recalled 10 senior prosecutors assigned to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). All of the senior prosecutors will now return to duty at the Adhyaksa Corps.

“It is true that 10 prosecutors were asked to return to the Attorney General’s Office,” said the Head of the Attorney General’s Office’s Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum), Harli Siregar, when confirmed, Monday (5/8).

According to Harli, the withdrawal of the 10 prosecutors was not sudden. He said the withdrawal was carried out in order to refresh the prosecutor’s office environment. Moreover, the senior prosecutors who were withdrawn had served for more than 10 years in the anti-corruption agency.

“And indeed, it has been included in the refreshment program because they have served an average of 10-12 years at the KPK,” said the former Head of the West Papua High Prosecutor’s Office (Kajati).

In addition, Harli ensured that the withdrawal of the 10 prosecutors was not related to the handling of any case. He said that the AGO would assign other prosecutors to replace the 10 people withdrawn from the KPK.

“The mechanism will be carried out as before, some are asked to return then some are assigned as replacements,” Harli concluded. (J-2)
