THE Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is pleased with the response of the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) and the National Police who denied closing the door to coordination if a prosecutor is prosecuted. The statement is considered a commitment to cooperation.

“We consider it a commitment,” said Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee Nurul Ghufron at the KPK Juang Building, South Jakarta, Wednesday (3/7).

The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) will follow up on the statements of the two agencies if they handle cases that involve their institutions.

“I am grateful, it means that it is a commitment, and of course we will follow up that he said there were no obstacles in the coordination or supervision process either to the Police or the Prosecutor’s Office in eradicating corruption,” said Ghufron.

Previously, the AGO denied that it had closed the door to coordination with the KPK if there was a case involving its agency. The relationship between the two institutions was claimed to be good.

Separately, the National Police also denied the statement of Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee Alexander Marwata who said that it was difficult to coordinate with the Attorney General’s Office and the Police in eradicating corruption if there were individuals involved. The National Police are certain to have technical capabilities and are able to establish cooperation in law enforcement.

“As a basis for cooperation, Supervision Coordination is implemented which is the basis for Commission Regulation Number 7 of 2020 in the context of Eradicating Criminal Acts of Corruption,” said Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko when confirmed, Tuesday (2/7).
