Attiki Odos: What changes from October 6

More specifically, from Sunday, October 6, toll prices are set as follows:

• €1.25 for mopeds

• €2.50 for cars (categories 2, 3 and 4)

• €6.25 for small and medium trucks (category 5)

• €10.00 for large trucks (category 6)

Accordingly, according to the company, e-PASS devices (transceivers) and transit cards continue to be used normally after 05.10.2024, with the transfer of the amounts corresponding to the balances of the prepaid subscription accounts.

In fact, especially for October, the following subscription programs are maintained:

• Bonus Program: the provision for the 15 free passes in October is maintained.

• Friendly and Business programs: the prices of the first 30 crossings are reduced to Basic Toll levels (see new prices above), with the existing prices of the next 20 crossings (31st to 50th) and the prices of more than 50 crossings (51st and above ) to be maintained as they are today, only for the month of October.

In the same context and in order not to affect the smooth traffic of vehicles and with a view to serving and adequately informing subscribers, from 06.10.2024 the new concession company “New Attiki Road Concession M.A.E.” automatically enters into all contracts with subscribers, in place of the Companies “Attiki Odos S.A.” and “Attic Routes SA”, assuming all the relevant rights and obligations from these contracts. Therefore, e-PASS devices (transceivers) and transit cards continue to be used normally even after 05.10.2024, with the transfer of the amounts corresponding to the money balances of the prepaid subscription accounts.

Especially for October 2024, the following subscription plans are maintained:

• Bonus Program: the provision for the 15 free passes in October is maintained.
• Friendly and Business programs: the prices of the first 30 crossings are reduced to Basic Toll levels (see new prices above), with the existing prices of the next 20 crossings (31st to 50th) and the prices of more than 50 crossings (51st and above ) to be maintained as they are today, only for the month of October.

In addition, e-PASS devices are still used in the context of interoperability on the other motorways, while the transponders of other motorways continue to be used normally on Attiki Odos as well.

For technical reasons, e-PASS subscription users who wish to, are requested to renew their subscription account balances by Friday, October 4, 2024, in order to avoid the system being burdened the next day, during the above transition.

Regarding road safety services, the 4-digit Emergency Number 1024 remains in force, where drivers can call and a patrol will be immediately nearby (24 hours/7 days), as well as free roadside assistance services for safe driving moving a stationary vehicle off the highway. Regarding customer service, the telephone number 210 6682222 remains in effect.

The contract

In the meantime, today the ratification of the concession contract, which gives flesh and bones to the New Attiki Road, is completed in the Parliament.

Under the terms of the new contract, the price will remain fixed for five years, after which any price changes will be indexed.

At the same time, New Attiki Odos will be able to apply, if it wishes, tiered tolls for different time periods (e.g. peak hours and off-peak hours), different types of days (e.g. weekdays, weekends and holidays) or different Toll Stations under certain traffic conditions.

Every year the new concessionaire will have to pay TAIPED 7.5% of whatever income it has (which will also go towards reducing the country’s debt). In the 25th term of the contract, it will also have the obligation to invest and upgrade the cost axis of 380 million euros.
