The month of July has begun and with it comes the long-awaited federal holiday. It falls on Thursday the 4th, Independence Day. During that entire date, Social Security offices in the United States will not be open.
Social Security executives remind their beneficiaries that only on the aforementioned date, this week, they will not open their offices in each city of the country. Therefore, it is essential to schedule an appointment before going to the office closest to your residence.
There are other dates scheduled for Social Security offices to close during 2024. One case will be Labor Day, May 1. That is another day established as a federal holiday. Payments are not sent on that day either.
For this reason, you may receive your payment several days before the date indicated on the usual calendar. As indicated, when a payment day coincides with a holiday, it is rescheduled for the previous business day.
