Attempted to withdraw 17 million won from his deposit before committing the murder of a station worker at Sindang Station

Failed due to exceeding the one-time withdrawal limit… Police investigate whether escape funds are used

It has been confirmed that Jeon (31), who was arrested on charges of murdering a colleague, a female station worker in her 20s, in a women’s restroom at Sindang Station on Seoul Subway Line 2 tried to withdraw his deposit on the day of the crime.

According to the Seoul Central Police Station on the 17th, about 8 hours before the crime, at 1:20 pm on the 14th, Jeon tried to find 17 million won at an automatic teller machine (ATM) near his house.

However, it was found that the actual withdrawal was not made because the limit that could be withdrawn at one time was exceeded.

Police are looking to see if Chun was trying to find cash and use it as money to escape after the crime.

During the police investigation, Jeon is said to have stated that he had planned the crime for a long time.

According to the investigation, he committed the crime while waiting for the victim in front of the bathroom for over an hour after taking the subway to Sindang Station with a disposable ticket instead of a transportation card with records at Gusan Station on Line 6.

The police are also looking at the situation in which the crime was carefully planned, such as preparing a weapon in advance and wearing a disposable sanitary cap at the time of the crime.

Previously, the court issued an arrest warrant for Jeon the day before, saying, “There is a risk of destroying evidence and running away” after interrogating the suspect before arrest.
