Attempt to install ‘spy device’ in Imran Khan’s bedroom; Employee arrested | Imran Khan

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has been arrested by staff for trying to install a ‘spy device’ in his bedroom. The spying attempt failed after news broke that a conspiracy was being hatched against Imran. Imran’s security guard was informed when another employee noticed an attempt to set up a ‘spy device’.

PTI leader Shahbaz Gill has alleged that an employee from the city of Bani Gala was intimidated and paid by rivals and that there was no effective intervention despite informing Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and others about the plot to assassinate Imran Khan. Shahbaz Gill told the media that there was no doubt that the Shahbaz Sharif government was behind such attempts. Security has been beefed up in Islamabad following reports of an assassination attempt on Imran Khan.

His son-in-law, Hassan Niazi, had warned that any attack on Imran, if anything, would be considered an attack on Pakistan and the repercussions would be dire. Last April, former Pakistani minister Fawad Chaudhry had said that security agencies had confirmed that Imran Khan had received death threats. Imran Khan has refused to comply with a request made by security agencies to use bullet-proof jackets at a rally in Islamabad demanding by-elections in Pakistan. PTI MP Ataullah had threatened on social media that Imran Khan would carry out suicide attacks in the country if anything happened.
