“Attack on the patient Abu Al-Hayat” .. A nurse beat him, which led to the extraction of his eye

Investigations revealed new details and facts regarding the case of assaulting a patient at the Psychiatric Hospital in Bethlehem, who arrived at Beit Jala Governmental Hospital with signs of assault.

Police spokesman in Ramallah, Louay Irzeigat, revealed today, Sunday, that the Palestinian police immediately began its search and investigation procedures to find out the causes of the attack.

In a statement published by the media and social media, the family accused one of the hospital’s nurses of beating the patient, “Abu al-Hayat”, causing his eye to go out.

The family explained that their son is in the hospital to receive treatment due to a health setback, and also accused the hospital administration of covering up and cheating in this case.

Irzeigat added: “The inmate who was in the mental hospital was transferred to Beit Jala Governmental Hospital following he was beaten inside the mental hospital, and then he was transferred to the Arab Society Hospital.”

Irzeigat explained that, hearing their statements, they said that they were on duty at the moment of the event, and that the inmate was in a state of irritability and tried to attack the nurses, so one of them grabbed the inmate from behind and dropped him on the ground and hit him in the eye, which led to his injury and loss of his eye.

Erzeigat confirmed that the suspect was arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures once morest him.

The family of “Abu al-Hayat” from Nablus had appealed to all institutions, associations and human rights to adopt the case of their son, “Shadi Abu al-Hayat”, following his eye was pulled out, at the Bethlehem Psychiatric Hospital.

The family demanded that the maximum punishment be applied to all those who neglected the life of their son, bearing responsibility for the hospital’s employees, managers and officials

The patient’s sister added: “The family inquired regarding how to enter a patient and perform the surgery under complete anesthesia without the signature of a family member, but the hospital made it clear that someone had signed, while it turned out later that he was not a member of the family and the name was unknown.”

The patient’s sister stated that he was severely beaten, and that there were many bruises and bruises on his body.

She indicated that the family had filed a complaint with the police in Bethlehem, indicating that the police immediately followed up with all possibilities, but it turned out that the camera recordings had been deleted. According to the patient’s sister.
