A terrible crime has shaken the city of Mound, Minnesota, United States. Julissa Thaler, 28, was arrested last Friday, May 20, 2022, and is now charged with second-degree intentional murder in connection with the death of Eli Hart, her 6-year-old son.
According to the Police, during a checkpoint the car that Thaler was driving was stopped, following a driver reported a suspicious vehicle that was moving with a broken rear window and a flat tire.
After inspection, the uniformed officers found the body of 6-year-old Eli Hart. Apparently, the father of the minor, Tory Hart, and the woman were in a legal fight for custody of him.
The boy had been in the custody of social services, following Dakota County warned that he needed special protection. Eli Hart spent 457 days in the care of the county and foster families.
But in December 2021, a judge allowed the boy to return to his mother’s house for a trial period.
“Because of a lot of red flags that Eli’s mom was showing, Tory went to great lengths to get custody of Eli. Multiple statements were made by numerous parties to CPS, fearing that the mother would harm Eli if full custody was returned.. Sadly, full custody was returned on May 10, 2022,” reads a GoFundMe description.
According to the forensic report, the boy was shot 9 times in the body and head. A man who reportedly taught Julissa Thaler how to shoot was also arrested.
