ATP Indian Wells: Marc-Andrea Hüsler s’incline au 1er tour – rts.ch

Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 51) can no longer do it. The Zurich left-hander lost at the start of Indian Wells to suffer his 5th consecutive defeat, the 4th in a first round.

Beaten as soon as he entered the competition in Rotterdam, Marseille and Dubai, Marc-Andrea Hüsler was defeated 7-6 (7/4) 3-6 6-4 by the Spaniard Pedro Martinez (ATP 120) in the Californian desert. He has won only one match since his Davis Cup feat once morest Alexander Zverev in the first round in Montpellier.

The Swiss No. 1, however, had all the cards in hand in his second face-to-face with Pedro Martinez. He thus made the first break of the decisive set to lead 4-2 service to follow. Unable to drive the point home, however, he lost the last 4 games of this game.

Author of 16 aces for 5 double faults, Marc-Andrea Hüsler only won 4 of the last 20 points of the match, conceding his last 2 service games. He notably lost 8 points in a row to let his opponent come back from 2-4 to 4-4.
