The top seeded Styrian (ATP 160) celebrated his fourth victory at the ATP 75 clay court challenger in Antalya on Saturday morning and defeated the Italian Gianluca Mager (ATP 323) in the semifinals following around 1:50 hours of play 7: 6 (6), 7:6(4). In doing so, he returned the favor to compatriot Lukas Neumayer, who, as a lucky loser, ex-world number 62. was inferior in the first main round with 2:6, 3:6. On Sunday, Ofner will now have his second chance to win his first title this year and the fourth ATP Challenger triumph in his career following Astana 2018, Puerto Vallarta 2019 and Prague 2022. His opponent will be Hungarian Fabian Maroszan (ATP 163 ) – whom he had defeated in the only duel this year in the Tenerife round of 16 with 6: 4, 6: 4. Ofner might already have made it into the top 140 in the world. Winning the cup would possibly put him in the top 130 and thus in the immediate vicinity of his career high of position 126.
